Enhancing Consumer Protection in Insurance Law: A Comparative Study of Small Nations

Abstract
Background: Consumer protection in insurance law is critical for ensuring equitable treatment and trust in the insurance industry. Small nations face distinct challenges in establishing robust frameworks that align with global standards while addressing local needs.
Objective: The study investigates the insurance laws of two small nations to assess their approaches to consumer protection, dispute resolution, and transparency. It aims to identify best practices and propose strategies to improve legal frameworks in similar jurisdictions.
Methodology: Using a comparative legal research design, the study analyzes statutes, regulations, and case law from the two nations. Data from insurance regulators, industry reports, and expert interviews provided a multi-faceted perspective.
Findings: Nation A demonstrates innovation in leveraging digital tools for policyholder awareness, while Nation B excels in community-based grievance mechanisms. However, both face challenges in enforcement due to limited resources and expertise. The study highlights the need for collaborative regulatory models and regionally adapted solutions to strengthen insurance governance.
