Abstract

Background: Insurance law is pivotal in protecting consumers and promoting trust in the insurance sector. As global challenges reshape economic policies, smaller nations are adopting unique strategies to strengthen their legal frameworks for insurance governance.

Objective: This study examines the consumer protection measures embedded in insurance laws of two smaller nations, exploring their approaches to transparency, enforcement, and dispute resolution. It aims to identify best practices and propose reforms tailored to similar jurisdictions.

Methodology: The research utilizes a qualitative comparative approach, analyzing legal texts, regulatory policies, and case studies from the selected nations. Expert interviews provided contextual insights, while secondary data from insurance regulatory bodies and academic journals were critically reviewed.

Findings: The analysis reveals that while Nation A demonstrates strengths in proactive regulatory enforcement and public awareness campaigns, Nation B excels in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and inclusive insurance practices. Both nations face challenges such as resource constraints and limited technological integration. The study underscores the importance of international collaboration and knowledge-sharing to foster effective insurance governance in smaller economies.
