Submission Guidelines
The International Insurance Law Review is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publishing excellence. Authors are advised to adhere strictly to the following guidelines:
Regular Issue Submission Requirements
- Originality: Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Articles should contribute to the field of insurance law with innovative perspectives or findings.
- Collaborative Contributions:
- Articles must involve contributions from at least two authors with institutions in different countries.
- Subject Specificity: Submissions must strictly pertain to the subject area of insurance law.
- Plagiarism: All submissions must have a similarity index below 10%, verified through a recognized plagiarism detection tool.
Special Issue Submissions
For special issues, the following adjusted conditions apply:
- Articles may be single-authored or co-authored, regardless of the authors’ country of residence.
- Interdisciplinary or cross-sectoral submissions are encouraged..
- Similarity index tolerance is up to 15%, as verified by a recognized plagiarism detection tool.
- APC for special issues is £550 or $732 (payable after acceptance).
Article Formatting
- Length: Manuscripts should be between 6,000 to 8,000 words, including footnotes, tables, and references.
- Structure:
- Title Page: Title of the article, author names, affiliations, contact information, and ORCID IDs.
- Abstract: Maximum 250 words, summarizing the objectives, methodology, and key findings.
- Keywords: Provide 5–7 keywords relevant to the article.
- Body: Organize into clearly defined sections (e.g., Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion).
- References: Follow the Bluebook Citation Style (21st Edition).
- File Format: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
- Font and Style: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5-line spacing, and standard margins (1 inch on all sides).
Submission Process
- Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted via the journal's online submission portal.
- Cover Letter: A cover letter must accompany the submission, addressing:
- Relevance of the article to the journal’s scope.
- Declaration of originality and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Confirmation of adherence to submission guidelines.
- Supporting Documents:
- Author Agreement Form.
- Evidence of plagiarism check.
- Ethical approval documentation, if applicable.
Peer Review Process
- Submissions undergo a double-blind peer review.
- Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within 15 days.
- The editorial decision is final and will be communicated within 6–8 weeks.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
- Special Issues: £550 or $732 (payable after acceptance).
Waivers and discounts are not offered, as the journal maintains strict quality standards.
APCs once paid are non-refundable & non-transferable in any circumstance(s).
Access and DOI Policy
All future publications (starting from August 1, 2025) — regardless of issue type — will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent visibility and citation tracking.

Special Issue Articles: Published as open access, freely available to readers worldwide without subscription or paywall.

Regular Issue Articles: Published as closed access, accessible through institutional or individual subscriptions.
Ethical Compliance
Authors are expected to comply with the highest ethical standards in research and publication. Any breach, including data fabrication, plagiarism, or redundant publication, will lead to immediate rejection and blacklisting.
