Abstract
The advent of social media has brought about a fundamental shift in the manner in which individuals participate in democratic processes and the manner in which political campaigns are conducted. a discussion on the revolutionary significance of social media in determining election results, with a particular focus on how it influences campaign strategies, political polarization, and voter behavior. In this article, case studies from recent elections in democracies all around the world are analyzed to demonstrate how social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter have been utilized for voter outreach, political advertising, and disinformation campaigns. The influence of social media through two different angles Despite the fact that it encourages inclusiveness and direct communication between voters and elected officials, it also enhances the spread of misinformation and creates echo chambers. In addition to qualitative data obtained from interviews with political strategists and digital campaign managers, the research also makes use of quantitative data obtained from voter surveys and analytics of social media. in order to ensure transparency and ethical conduct in the realm of online politics, there is a need for robust legal frameworks. In conclusion, this work contributes to the ongoing conversation about the importance of maintaining the legitimacy of democratic procedures in the modern era of digital technology.
