Abstract

Background: The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare has revolutionized diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient care. However, it also raises significant ethical concerns, including privacy, accountability, and bias in decision-making.
Objective: To explore ethical challenges associated with AI in healthcare and propose policy recommendations for its responsible implementation.
Methodology: The study conducted a systematic literature review of 120 articles from 2015–2023, supplemented by expert interviews with AI developers and healthcare practitioners from the United States, the UK, and India.
Findings: The findings highlight issues such as data privacy breaches, algorithmic bias affecting marginalized groups, and unclear accountability in AI-assisted medical errors. The study proposes a comprehensive ethical framework emphasizing transparency, patient consent, and equitable AI deployment.
