Abstract

Objective: This article investigates the legal frameworks for liability insurance in Canada and Australia, focusing on their application to professional services such as healthcare and law.
Methodology: The study adopts a comparative legal analysis, examining statutes, case law, and policy documents from both countries. Interviews with insurance regulators and professional associations provide additional insights.
Findings: Canada’s regulatory approach prioritizes consumer protection, mandating liability coverage for several professions. Australia, while similarly proactive, faces challenges related to cost and accessibility in rural areas. Harmonizing global standards for liability insurance could ensure better protection for professionals and their clients.
